Working it out

Now, I am thinking that maybe, if I work it out here, I can get some ideas.

I like:

• Colours - Bright, Bold and Dark too
• Grunge Design - ok, a little, not overboard
• Corkboard
• Illustration
• A-typical layout
• Something different
• Use of Typography
• Scrapbook style and colours

I want to include:

• CSS for the layout
• XHTML at least 1.0 transitional. I would like for it to pass as 1.0 Strict, but sometimes the look will not render right. I found that out on the beta. When I set the doctype as 1.o Strict, it validates, but the visual part does not render the same. I do not know what the difference between the Transitional and Strict makes on the rendering when the code is the same and validates both ways??
• Lots of Different (but not tacky looking) Typography
• Photos
• Photos from the Everclear Concert
• Graphics
• Logos
• Articles

I am tired of:

• All websites looking similar blocky (even with rounded corners)
• Navigation all looking the same - hortzontal menus and vertical menus mashed together in blocks

Beta

I know I shouldn’t be, but I am already getting bored of my design. I want something new, something different. I like the corkboard look and the a-typical nagivation. The problem is, I also like the grunge look. And, I like the illustrated look. What to do.???

Pieces of Me

Lately, I have spent a lot of time working on the ericastjohn.com website. It was originally started so I could have a “showcase” of a lot of my graphics, photos and articles. I have gone through a few designs already. The latest one is one that is XHTML 1.0 strict /CSS /Accessible.
